THE FINISH LINE
There were four keys to the success of this reno. First, I didn’t go in with a “demolish everything” hat on – by keeping most items and simply replacing some of the larger strategic ones, costs were kept down. Next, the apartment’s new design theme fitted perfectly with the suburb, the age of the block and the likely buyer demographic. Inexpensive pieces, like wallpaper and feature lights, added a wow factor without blowing the budget. Lastly, rolling up sleeves and putting in hard yakka meant fewer tradies were involved, which saved money.
