Unfortunately, there was nothing we could salvage from the tiny kitchen, otherwise I would have tried to rework what was there with my arsenal of magic paint. I also needed to block up the doorway to the laundry to make much better use of the space and create a proper-sized U-shaped kitchen with modern appliances. A Bunnings Kaboodle kitchen in a white gloss finish came to the rescue, at a cost of about $4300, including benchtops. Marble-look vinyl tiles are a nod to the “vintage” era of the house.
Blocking up the laundry doorway next to the oven created space for more benchtop and cabinetry.
Ready to serve Now modernised and functional, the kitchen adds lots of resale value.
