A reader shares clever storage solutions.

Second-hand finds and repurposed pieces helped Jelena Anderson create a practical and well-organised workspace in her living area. Jelena, an interiors and property stylist, wanted “functional storage, light, some energy in the form of colour and plants – and an inspirational quote never goes astray either.”

A trio of wall shelves was added to the workspace – great for display and storage (they hold books, files and more). They also help to keep the desk free of clutter.

An eclectic mix of storage containers like this wooden box keeps letters, stationary and other office paraphernalia out of sight but still within easy reach.

A ceramic container adds colour and pattern to the space. It’s also a perfect place for Jelena to keep her wallpaper samples, wrapping paper and floor plans for work projects.

The desk was made from an old picnic table found by the side of the road, cut in half and sanded back. The second-hand chair was revived with new upholstery.

Greenery was an absolute must for the office space. “Plants rejuvenate any corner of your home,” says Jelena.
