Oh, how we love a storage solution! Especially when it’s one of yours.
A reader shares clever storage solutions.
A lovely old timber cupboard was rescued, repainted and given a new lease of life as the storage centre for Sam’s many creative pursuits.
The cupboard was found collecting dust under an elderly couple’s house and bought for $20. Sam sanded back the original cream colour to make way for a bright white.
An eclectic collection of jars is used to store cotton reels, ribbons, washi tape, sewing tape, fabric scissors and more, plus buttons, buttons and more buttons.
Cute blackboard tags help keep the shelves organised. A large wire basket holds a collection of spots and stripes from Sam’s “over flowing bounty of fabrics.”
Sam uses colourful boxes to contain a host of smaller crafty items like stamps, twine and cardstock, as well as a growing collection of paint chips she upcycles.
The bottom shelf is where Sam houses her “never-ending collection of interiors magazines, including every issue of homes+ that I can’t bear to part with.”
Sam’s partner Dale removed the wooden panels in the doors and replaced them with wire mesh.
