YOU WILL NEED

● dressed Tas­ma­nian oak, 2 pieces 30mm x 12mm x 1.8m ● hand saw or jig­saw ● pen­cil ● sand­pa­per ● white acrylic paint ● paint­brush ● thick card­board ● hot glue gun ● black marker ● scis­sors

HERE’S HOW

1 Use a saw to cut oak into eight 30cm pieces. Line up pieces next to each other. Sketch an arch at top. 2 Saw along arch on each piece. Use sand­pa­per to smooth edges. 3 Ap­ply two coats of paint to oak (al­low to dry be­tween coats).

4 Lay card­board flat and align oak pieces on top. Use a pen­cil to trace around. Cut out shape.

5 Ap­ply hot glue to card­board and press oak pieces into po­si­tion. Dry. 6 Sketch hinges and han­dle onto door. Colour with black marker.
