When Lisa and her husband, Nigel, bought this classic Queensland property, the house was in need of plenty of TLC. Along with renovating the interiors, the couple built decks at both the front and back as well as an art studio for Lisa. “The large rear outdoor deck is our best addition,” says Lisa. “We often sit out here with a cuppa and watch our daughter play in her cubbyhouse.” Accessed from the house via tri-stack glass doors and leading on to the art studio, the deck has louvres for protection from the weather. “When it rains we close the louvres and drop the bistro blinds and it becomes another sitting area,” says Lisa.
OUTDOORS TO IN Lisa and Nigel built the custom bench seat, with storage underneath, and had it upholstered. Lisa says the bench is a “fabulous spot for an afternoon siesta”.
