A num­ber of coun­tries have voiced con­cerns over Poke­mon Go as a threat to their na­tional se­cu­rity due to the col­lec­tion of in­for­ma­tion from play­ers, not least lo­ca­tion-based data. Rus­sia and Egypt are amongst the high­est-pro­file na­tions on this list, al­though na­tional se­cu­rity cen­tres from all over the world - in­clud­ing the Pen­tagon in the US - have banned the game on their prop­erty.
