Our lead designer wants a sniper with a powerful, longrange weapon. This character isn’t good in close-quarter combat, but the feelings the player gets should be strength and precision. I start with the basic idea of a medieval crossbow hunter, then explore different body types such as stocky, skinny and acrobatic.
Nothing really jumps out. Sometimes you have to slog through mediocre ideas to find the right design. Gigantic is a fantasy game, but there’s some technology in this world, so it doesn’t have to be a traditional crossbow. I try a cloaked, mysterious, sniper character with a strong triangular shape.
