Our lead de­signer wants a sniper with a pow­er­ful, lon­grange weapon. This character isn’t good in close-quar­ter com­bat, but the feel­ings the player gets should be strength and pre­ci­sion. I start with the ba­sic idea of a me­dieval cross­bow hunter, then ex­plore dif­fer­ent body types such as stocky, skinny and ac­ro­batic.

Tri­an­gu­lar shape

Noth­ing re­ally jumps out. Some­times you have to slog through medi­ocre ideas to find the right de­sign. Gi­gan­tic is a fan­tasy game, but there’s some tech­nol­ogy in this world, so it doesn’t have to be a tra­di­tional cross­bow. I try a cloaked, mys­te­ri­ous, sniper character with a strong tri­an­gu­lar shape.
