Trans­late what I see

I look for the right com­bi­na­tion of shapes and cal­lig­ra­phy in black-and-white be­fore go­ing into colour. None of this is lit­eral; I’m us­ing ab­stract shapes and marks to rep­re­sent what I’m see­ing. This is what art es­sen­tially is, after all. I’m not try­ing to du­pli­cate any­thing pre­cisely, merely trans­late what I’m see­ing and feel­ing into the lan­guage I’m us­ing – in this case, the marks that a dig­i­tal paint pro­gram makes.
