Us­ing a limited colour scheme

You don’t need to have a lot of colours to make your pic­ture seem colour­ful. In­stead, use a global colour that could be de­sat­u­rated, and pick a part of your pic­ture that will be high­lighted by a highly con­trasted colour from an­other range (such as blue and or­ange, or red and blue). Any other added colour will be a vari­a­tion of the main colours.
