Va­ri­ety is key to comic book sto­ry­telling. Vary panel sizes, shapes, cam­era an­gles, use of blacks, com­po­si­tions and fig­ure size as much as pos­si­ble within the script’s pa­ram­e­ters. Con­stantly step back and re­view the lay­outs to make sure there’s not a same­ness from page to page. Comic book vi­su­als should be dy­namic and change through­out the book to re­flect the story’s tone, at­mos­phere, lo­ca­tions and ac­tion.
