Aaron believes that escaping from the busy studio environment once in a while is always a good idea
Aaron says he’s fortunate to work in a studio atmosphere with other artists at ILM, but he still enjoys going to festivals and shows to catch up with his peers. And even now, he sometimes finds himself starstruck when meeting fellow artists in the flesh.
“I mean, you follow a lot of people on Facebook, and you sort of get to know their work through publications like ImagineFX… then you see them for the first time and it’s sort of like an odd celebrity thing where you recognise them and go ‘I know you!’ and then I realise I don’t know you!” he laughs.
“It’s wonderful to see someone in person for the first time. Raphael Lacoste, for instance – I’m a big fan. I’m not a huge gamer but I love the aesthetic of Assassins Creed, so it was really kind of cool when I met him at a show last year and I said ‘Hey, I’m a really big fan of your stuff.’ I realised we’d never met!”
