How­ever, it’s only re­cently that the artist has re­dis­cov­ered his pas­sion for illustration.

“Manga has been one of my con­sis­tent in­flu­ences,” he re­veals. “I re­ally love in­tri­cate line-work, and disciplined colour ap­pli­ca­tion. Or per­haps it’s just my sub­con­scious from when was a kid.”

1 Moon Hangs On

“This is the cover to Moon’s Os­trich, pub­lished by For­ward Comix. It fea­tures a young girl who goes on wild and crazy ad­ven­tures in a steam­punk world. I tried to imag­ine the most danger­ous sit­u­a­tion: at­tempt­ing to board an air­ship as it was rock­et­ing into the air.”

“I wanted to do more stud­ies look­ing at the con­nec­tion be­tween the arts, cul­tural di­ver­sity and in­dus­tri­al­i­sa­tion. This sparked the idea about a fash­ion icon, caught in the mid­dle of a time of un­rest. I re­ally like this illustration.”
