Analysing your brief
The first part of any design process is to understand the brief. If the art director can supply any key words, so much the better, and try to find out what has been done before you got the job. I tend to make a short list of key words, adjectives, the style the art director’s after, and anything else that will inform my design. At this stage I prefer using words instead of images so I don’t narrow things down too early. This checklist will be the backbone for the rest of my design.
