From block-out to base design
For this stage I try to determine the overall shapes and visual style of the design. I work on top of the metric block-out so I can be sure that everything will fit. First I look at a logical way to develop the doors and mechanisms, using the references that I gathered earlier. Then I examine how to incorporate the shapes from the previous design into the new functional layout, such as the mudguards. Functionality comes first for all of my shapes. Keep in mind how people, or the player, will use your design.
