Shapes and sil­hou­ettes goes hand in hand with value, but can also be eas­ily de­scribed with line. In­ter­est­ing shapes can be sub­jec­tive, but of­ten they help de­scribe the ob­ject. Shapes don’t need to be com­plete or overly de­scrip­tive, but there should be hints in their sil­hou­ettes that lead us to as­sump­tions of what they are. Fi­nally, vari­a­tion in forms will go a long way to cre­at­ing vis­ual in­ter­est.
