Adam Ku­bert on what to ex­pect if you enrol with the il­lus­tri­ous Ku­bert School

“The Ku­bert School has a very var­ied cur­ricu­lum. In its first and sec­ond years it in­cludes sub­jects such as ba­sic draw­ing, the hu­man fig­ure, nar­ra­tive art, meth­ods and ma­te­ri­als, ad­ver­tis­ing and let­ter­ing. In the third year of its full-time pro­grammes, it also teaches sub­jects such as se­quen­tial sto­ry­telling, the busi­ness of art, and ad­vanced tech­niques and cre­ation of style.

As well as its full-time teach­ing, The Ku­bert School also of­fers cor­re­spon­dence cour­ses, sum­mer ses­sions, Satur­day classes and evening classes. Evening classes teach topics such as life draw­ing, ba­sic draw­ing and graphic sto­ry­telling. The school’s teach­ers in­clude Andy Ku­bert and my­self, il­lus­tra­tor Brian Bu­niak, il­lus­tra­tor and car­toon­ist Mike Chen and es­tab­lished comics artist Jan Du­ursema. We of­fer a range of ex­pe­ri­ence and skills to stu­dents.”

Dur­ing Tom Man­drake’s ca­reer he’s worked on DC’s The Spec­tre and Mar­tian Man­hunter.
