The next shape is the half-tone. Half-tones have many sub­tleties and vari­a­tions, but I pre­fer to sim­plify the half-tones at this stage into one uni­form tone. I’ll use a slightly darker tone only on the ar­eas that are fur­thest away from the light and for tran­si­tion ar­eas near the core shadow.
