High res­o­lu­tion: sculpt­ing the mam­moth’s skin

This is where I use ZBrush to de­tail the high-res­o­lu­tion char­ac­ter. This process can be bro­ken down into three cre­ative steps: pri­mary sil­hou­ette; sec­ondary forms; and ter­tiary de­tail. Ini­tially, brushes such as Move, Stan­dard and Clay Buildup help build up the ini­tial form. Adding brushes such as Pinch and Dam Stan­dard en­able me to start look­ing at skin folds and sur­face tran­si­tion, while brushes with cus­tom al­phas (pore and spots) give the beast that fi­nal level of pol­ish.
