At last year’s V8 Supercar event, among the crowds of car accessories and adornments related to the car experience in general, there was one car audio specialist company that saw an opportunity to promote itself among a new audience sector.
Parramatta’s Life Style store exhibited at the big Supercar event in a section of the Homebush venue where it was able to spread out and stretch its wings among the Hot Rods and worked Muscle cars.
On show were not only a range of its product portfolio – from such names as Clarion, Audison, Hertz, Rockford Fosgate, Focal, German Maestro and more – but also a number of Life Style store’s beautifully customised cars with the best in audio gear. There were the beautiful Mazda RX8 and CX7 (which won some awards), the stunning Ferrari featured right here on these pages back in issue 1-2012, and a vintage pick-up truck in the midst of full customisation.
The store was giving away a Clarion head unit, something that had the crowds constantly streaming through the exhibit and which also resulted in strong off-the-floor sales. And aside from the promo girls the Macaw parrot was also a popular attraction.
Overall, Life Style store should be commended for going to the considerable expense of showing its wares (in no uncertain terms) in a forum which, strictly speaking, is not ultimately related to car audio. But, it does expose our wonderful industry to a whole new and receptive audience.
