Newcastle to host NSW Open
NEWCASTLE Golf Club has secured the hosting rights of the NSW Open Golf Championship for 3 years from 2011 through to and including 2013.
Golf NSW CEO, Greg Mills and Newcastle Golf Club Captain, Michael Mulvaney, in the company of two former winners in Owen Beldham and Aaron Townsend, signed off on an agreement for the club to again become the host venue.
Beldham won the event as an amateur back in 1972, the last time Newcastle staged the event, while Townsend is a local Novocastrian and a member at the Newcastle club. Townsend won the NSW Open in 2008.
The 2011 NSW Open will this year be held from the 17th to 20th of November and in continuing the recent tradition, entry to the course will be free of charge.
