Ju­nior girls battle it out for 2011 Ju­nior Jug

THE Ju­nior Jug is an In­ter-District Matchplay Tour­na­ment held ev­ery year and played be­tween Ju­nior girls from the seven dis­tricts in Queens­land. The event was first played in 1984 at Bar­gara Golf Club and has con­tin­ued to fos­ter and de­velop the tal­ent of ju­nior fe­male golfers in Queens­land.

Teams of 3 play­ers are se­lected to rep­re­sent their home district: Far North Queens­land, North Queens­land, Cen­tral Queens­land, Wide Bay Bur­nett, Downs & South West­ern, Gold Coast & Bris­bane & Dis­tricts. Each district takes their turn to host the event and this year Bris­bane & Dis­tricts hosted the event at Gailes Golf Club from 27-30June.

This year a tie for first place saw Wide Bay Bur­nett & Cen­tral Queens­land shar­ing the ti­tle.

Congratulations to all golfers, Team Cap­tains, Team Man­agers , B&D Com­mit­tee mem­bers, vol­un­teers and Gailes staff for a great week of golf.
