Smith (pictured) received high praise from members of the Hope Valley Country Club in North Carolina where he qualified to play in the US Junior Amateur Championship.

In fact, a member of the country club was so impressed with Smith he wrote a letter to Golf Queensland praising the young man.

“He was so nice to our members and kids,” the member wrote.

“I would like to send him a stick (golf club) and golf ball out to Seattle to play with during his down time out there.”

The US Junior Amate u r Championship is played at Gold Mountain Golf Club’s Olympic Course in Seattle.

“I have family and friends who are members at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania, site of the 2013 US Open.

“I would like to connect Cameron with a good family, who can caddie for him for the week.

“It will be a big event as it will be the 100th anniversary of Francis Ouimet winning the US Open at age 19 – the same age Cameron will be.
