New website for Golf Nuts
WE’VE written at length about the Scoopon/ Groupon debate, and how group buying sites are slowly changing the way courses/clubs do business (sometimes to the detriment of the clubs).
But a new golf-only Australian-owned website is bursting onto the scene which promises to be more beneficial to golfers and golf courses.
The new GolfNut.com.au is a golf deals website that gives golfers the chance to take advantage of great value golf, via weekly deals sent straight to their email.
“There are so many places you can buy cheap clubs and balls, but few options to get access to great green fees,” says GolfNut CEO, Andrew Davies.
Unlike the mainstream daily deals providers, which offer coupons for everything from massages to liposuction, GolfNut is dedicated to golf and, according to Davies, has the industry’s best interests at heart.
“They (mainstream sites) don’t know golf, they don’t help course managers grow their business, and they aren’t interested in what works for golfers either. At GolfNut, we want to create deals with the golf courses that work well for them and which offer great value to the golfing public.”
Using GolfNut is as simple as signing up at www.golfnut.com.au and receiving a weekly email containing a great deal. You can buy as many deals as you like. Tee-times are booked directly with the course.
“GolfNut is Australian owned and run by golf industry people. We love golf, and we see a real opportunity here to make getting out to play golf easier and better value whilst ensuring courses prosper,” Davies says.
Mr Davies adds that keeping the GolfNutters happy is a priority.
“We’ve heard horror stories of coupon holders from other mainstream sites being treated as second-class citizens on course. This is due to poorly structured deals which create conflict with members. Our offers will work for both courses and players.”
The GolfNut team is also keen to build deals around courses that golfers want to play.
“We want to build our subscriber base at the same time as lining up deals, so subscribe early and give us your ideas to ensure the great deals can start rolling in,” he says.
