Trevor toughs it out

Inside Golf - - News -

CENTRAL Queensland and Yeppoon champion golfer Trevor Tougher has done it again.

Despite a mediocre start, Tougher went on to capture his umpteenth Yeppoon club championship.

He started with a 79 and trailed Terry Bulger by five shots, but he quickly made up ground to finish with a 72-hole total of 302 – 16 shots clear of Michael Prior.

Prior survived a countback to finish runnerup from Jeff Ingle and Scott Constable.

Dennis Lankester (86-82-89-85–342) took out the B grade title from Ewin Zip (345) with John Gutherie next.

Meanwhile, Central Queensland’s men’s match committee has finally decided to introduce a Central Queensland Men’s Champion of Champions event for all club champions of affiliated Central Queensland clubs.

Members who have won or finished runnerup in their respective club championship grades will be invited to compete in this inaugural event at the Gladstone Golf Club at the end of August.

The event will be played in conjunction with the annual Centracks Trophy.
