50 courses in 100 days
A SWEDISH golfer with a long-time passion for links golf has decided to take on an amazing adventure: play the greatest 50 links golf course around the world in 100 consecutive days. Starting this month. Jan Remmelg will tee off in an attempt to experience true links golf at its best and, more importantly, share the experience and passion with fellow golfers around the world.
Countries on Remmelg’s itinerary include the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, USA, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. The courses will include Carnoustie, St Andrews, Pebble Beach, Bandon Dunes and a host of other top-rated layouts. In New Zealand (11th to 16th November) he will play Paraparaumu Beach Golf, Kinloch Golf Club, Cape Kidnappers and Kauri Cliffs. His Australian tour (20th to 29th November) will include New South Wales Golf Club, Barnbougle Dunes & Lost Farm, The Royal Melbourne Golf Club, The Dunes Golf Links and The National Golf Club.
He will be joined by golfing friends on different parts of this journey. The experience will be filmed and photographed along the way, with interviews of key people at the different golf clubs (the Captain, the pro, a caddie, the bartender, players, etc). The footage will be compiled into a documentary which is hoped to capture and share the genuine passion for links golf.
