PROFESSIONAL golfer Sarah Kemp is the new international face of the Great Lakes, NSW. Great Lakes Tourism, Forster Tuncurry Golf Club and the international golfing champ have joined forces to showcase the Great Lakes region on the international stage. Golf in the Great Lakes already attracts over 20,000 visitors a year and this partnership aims to grow these numbers. The union seeks to utilise Sarah’s local and international exposure to entice visitors.

Sarah Kemp, whose family moved to Forster Tuncurry some 10 years ago called the region home until becoming a professional golfer and taking her career on the road. Whilst Sarah’s career is still young, she is showcasing her talents here and on the impressive LPGA tour in America and the prestigious LET tour of Europe. Sarah will wear Great Lakes and Forster Tuncurry Golf club branding on her attire wherever she competes.

As part of the agreement Kemp will be a Great Lakes Region Ambassador and is now officially the Forster Tuncurry Golf Club Touring Professional. The venture aims to use an exciting mix of traditional marketing and communications along with an aggressive social media program.

“I am so pleased to be involved in the Great Lakes community,” Sarah said. “I love the golf courses naturally; Tuncurry is one of my all time favourites.”

Doug Holmes, president of Forster Tuncurry Golf Club is also currently in negotiations with the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Association around hosting a Ladies Pro-Am event at Tuncurry Golf Club later this year.
