Qld schools’ ti­tles de­cided

LAUREN Ma­son con­tin­ued her red-hot form to win the Queens­land School Girls’ Cham­pi­onship.

Ma­son carded rounds of 74-67 to edge out Jes­sica Park by one shot and places an­other tro­phy on the man­tel­piece along­side the Queens­land Girls’ Am­a­teur and Kather­ine Hull Clas­sic.

Her lat­est vic­tory came a week af­ter com­pet­ing in the Aaron Bad­de­ley In­ter­na­tional Ju­nior Cham­pi­onship in Qingyang, south­ern China. Park fin­ished with rounds of 74-68. In the School Boys’ Cham­pi­onship, Jack Hu­lyer (Coolan­gatta Tweed) de­feated 2010 School Boys’ cham­pion Jake Mcleod in a play­off.

Hu­lyer birdied the first ex­tra hole af­ter hit­ting his ap­proach to just over a me­tre from the pin.

Hu­lyer carded rounds of 72-67 – 139 while Mcleod shots 68-71.

Coolan­gatta Tweed mem­bers Ja­cob Tonkin and Dee Dee Rus­sell won the 15 years boys’ and girls’ di­vi­sions re­spec­tively.

Dee Dee was im­pres­sive, win­ning by 11 shots from Sophia Crag­no­lini (Hills).

In­ter­na­tional player Hugo De­nis ( Tina) won the 14 years and un­der boys’ divi­sion and Mad­di­son Coster (Emer­ald Lakes) was suc­cess­ful in the girls’ divi­sion.
