THIS month, the PGA of Australia is run­ning a se­ries of Ca­reers In­for­ma­tion Nights for any­one in­ter­ested in ap­ply­ing for one of the PGA’s train­ing and ed­u­ca­tion pro­grams. Th­ese nights will in­clude guid­ance and in­for­ma­tion on en­try cri­te­ria for each pro­gram, pro­gram cost, com­ple­tion re­quire­ments and ex­pected out­comes.

“For in­di­vid­u­als seek­ing a ca­reer as a PGA Pro­fes­sional work­ing as a Club Pro­fes­sional, Direc­tor of Golf or Golf Coach, the in­for­ma­tion night will out­line the en­try and com­ple­tion re­quire­ments of the PGA’s Trainee Pro­gram,” says PGA Na­tional Train­ing and Ed­u­ca­tion Manager, Ge­off Ste­wart

“In ad­di­tion, the evening will out­line the benefits of PGA Membership and the ac­cred­i­ta­tions, qual­i­fi­ca­tions and op­por­tu­ni­ties avail­able to Trainee Pro­gram grad­u­ates.

“For those in­ter­ested in a ca­reer in the busi­ness of golf as a golf op­er­a­tions or golf club manager, the in­for­ma­tion pre­sented will also en­cap­su­late the cour­ses of­fered by the PGA IGI, in­clud­ing the Di­ploma of Golf Man­age­ment and the Ad­vanced Di­ploma of Man­age­ment.

“Also in­cluded in the night will be the PGA Per­for­mance Pro­gram – a 1-year game im­prove­ment pro­gram of­fered by the PGA Cen­tre for learn­ing and Per­for­mance. The Per­for­mance Pro­gram also in­cor­po­rates na­tion­ally ac­cred­ited train­ing via the com­ple­tion of a Di­ploma of Sport Devel­op­ment.”

The evenings will also in­clude in­for­ma­tion on how to gain a Tour Card on the PGA Tour of Aus­trala­sia or ar­tic­u­late into higher ed­u­ca­tion stud­ies from the PGA pro­grams on of­fer.
