Normann Copenhagen ‘Geo’ jug

Inside Out (Australia) - - Things We Love -

The form: A thermal one-litre jug in plastic made up of strong geometric shapes. What makes it special? The recipient of a Red Dot Award in 2013, the ‘Geo’ has an exaggerated geometric shape with a squat base and a pronounced beak-like lip that sets it well apart from other jugs. Of course, its main feature is that it has thermal properties so it can be used for cold or hot beverages but it’s the bold geometric look that forces everyone to take notice. While the jug was launched initially as a standalone product, it has since been joined by an entire collection of items around the concept of drinking beverages – sugar bowls, milk jugs, canisters and trays. Designer Nicholai Wiig Hansen is also justifiably famous for two hugely successful IKEA products from the ’90s: the home-offffice ‘Jules’ chair and the ‘PS’ locker. Expect to pay: $125.
