With the sheer volume and range of Christmas cards on offffer, you really have no excuse not to buy a box with a charitable edge. But buyer beware – not all charity cards are created equal. Some trumpet a good cause and somewhere in the small print you’ll find that they hand over only around five per cent of proceeds. The rule of thumb is that you should be aiming for a large percentage. Your best bet is to purchase direct from the charity you’ve chosen to support.
