As the AFL con­tem­plates a wild card sys­tem to shake up its end-of-sea­son blues, con­sider that in the 40-plus years the NFL has em­ployed it, only half a dozen wild cards have won the Su­per Bowl – and no Su­per Bowl has had a wild card-ver­sus-wild card matchup.
