New England Patriots

Inside Sport - - PUNTER’S CHANCE -

Curious fact: during the Bill Belichick-Tom Brady era, a run that has accumulated five titles, the Pats have only backed up once – and that happened to be 12 years ago. It’s not an indictment; it’s testimony to how good NE has been for so long, which we were all reminded of when Brady (le‡) celebrated his 40th birthday in preseason. Brady shows no signs of slowing, and with the addition of speedy Brandin Cooks and the return of Rob Gronkowski, he’ll have a couple more targets to torment defences with. The rest of the division in the AFC East is a li le down, which should give the Patriots a buffer. But more than anything else, a‡er the last Super Bowl, how can you bet against this team’s indomitable will to win?
