OPEN DAY SUCCESS
CHILDERS was on show over the weekend when the Childers Chamber of Commerce held its inaugural Open Day, showcasing the district’s businesses and attractions.
Saturday’s event was hailed a “huge success” by chamber president John Russo, who estimated that at least 600 people came through the doors of Kowbi Place to check out what Childers has on offer.
Mr Russo said he was “ecstatic” with the number of people turning out to support the event, as well as the high number of stall holders.
Sixty-five exhibitors from the Isis district were on hand to show off their products and services.
Mr Russo said he was particularly pleased with the turnout considering it took just four weeks of planning.
“A lot of credit has got to go to Paul Dwyer and his team, as well as chamber members who got on board and supported it,” Mr Russo said.
Mr Russo said he had received a “very positive reaction” to the Open Day from businesses and the broader community, and were supportive of future events.
“People are asking if this is going to be a yearly event,” he said.
Mr Russo has not ruled out the possibility of future events.
