Isis Town and Country - - Sport -

A FINE morning once again to greet the players with a Single Stroke game over the Front Nine.

It was a close fought contest with three players on 32 strokes and only going back six holes were we able to find the winner ... that being Paul McCarragher, which when announced was met with light-hearted calls for a recount because he is the captain and does the scores.

Apart from that he also lost 2.4 off his handicap for his troubles.

Second was Bob Cochrane losing 2.2 and finally Bob Fraser coming third with a loss of 1.7.

Bob Fraser also took out the least putts with 12.

The B-grade Approach was won by Bob Champney, the A-grade Longest Drive by Dave Durie and the B-grade Longest drive by Leigh Hart.

Dave also won the Combined Nearest the Pin on the fourth but not close enough to win the Golden Circle which next week goes out to 1m.

The Combined Nearest the Pin on the sixth was won by Chris Fitzsimons.

Chris also won his match play against Ed with a 5-0 score card.

Thanks again to those stalwarts of the Social Club Chris and Roz for organising the brekkie and lunch and to those who helped clean up.

Next week due to the fact that Eagles Nest is closed the Social Club will play at Isis and it will be a Single Stableford over the Back Nine.

Play starts at 7.30am so be at the grounds by 7.15am to allow the captain time to organise the cards.

If you are travelling in someone’s buggy then also let the captain know.

Don’t forget those travelling to Peregian Springs on May 11 need to have their names in by April 27 as well as their money.

Those who don’t will miss out.
