ADDITIONAL van and cabin sites for the Woodgate Beach Tourist Park have been approved by Bundaberg Regional Council.

The park operators submitted a development application seeking to construct two additional cabins and create 16 more van sites at the beachside facility.

Council’s Planning and Development portfolio spokesperson, Councillor Ross Sommerfeld, said the approval would provide a welcome boost to the array of camping, van, villas and cabin options currently in place at the popular tourist park.

“Woodgate Beach is an extremely popular destination, especially during holiday times,” Cr Sommerfeld said.

“The additional facilities approved through this application will assist in catering to the increased flow of visitors to the area.”

Cr Sommerfeld said the application was approved subject to conditions.

They included landscaping, noise control, and general access requirements.
