Put sculpture skills to test
KRIS Martin, the Sunshine Coast artist who visited the region last August, is heading back in June.
Kris will create large-scale woven sculptures leading up to the Afloat community events in Bundaberg and surrounding regions.
Why not take part of this unique opportunity? Each sculpture will be unique and symbolic to each region, but Kris and the Afloat Creative Regions team need your support. Kris will be heading to: Bundaberg: Kendalls Flat, June 11–12, 9am–noon, 1pm – 4pm.
Baffle Creek: Baffle Creek Sport and Recreation Grounds, June 18–19, 9am–noon, 1pm–4pm.
Mundubbera: Mundubbera Historical Society, June 25–26, 9am–noon, 1pm–4pm.
Maryborough: Gatakers Art Space, July 2–3, 9am–noon, 1pm–4pm.

LEARN a simple and easy way to create amazing backgrounds using acrylics. Facilitated by Lesley Perk, this acrylic workshop is being held tomorrow and Sunday from 9am–4pm at the Youth Activity Centre, Tirroan Rd, Gin Gin.

PAST Treasures, an exhibition by award-winning photographer, Sandra McEwan, will be on show at the Gin Gin Regional Courthouse Gallery from June 3.
The exhibition is a collection of photos from around the Granite Belt and from other areas of Queensland, and runs until June 28.
ROUND Pots, Square Holes was officially opened by Jennifer McDuff on Tuesday.
The joint exhibition between the Childers Firehouse Potters and the Bundaberg Pottery Group showcases the region’s best and most loved ceramic artists.
The majority of the works on show are available for purchase.
Round Pots, Square Holes is on show at the Childers Arts Space (Charts) until July 20.

THE extremely popular Portraits of a Tea Cosy exhibition comes to a close this Sunday at the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery.
The inspiring yarn bombing project should also be wrapping up – or will it? The anonymous knitters may decide to continue to bring bright and colourful woollen items through the region.
Recently both Booyal Central State School and Cordalba State School were yarnbombed as part of the Knitting up a Storm project.
The Cordalba State School students were so excited they made a yarn bombing display for the Childers Show.
