The hapless street

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion - By RON GRAHAM

I can think of few things

sillier Than to name a street

Grevillia, Yet they did, with signpost

neat, To a hapless Redridge Street. Yes, the error’s indisputable, But the council heads

inscrutable Thought the mail might

misdirect If the spelling were correct. Thus the council heads all

prattled on, Three long years the people

battled on, Campaigned hard until the

date Council set its records

straight. Now restored the name

familiar! Rule Queen’s English! Hail

Grevillea! Now the name ends right

with ea, Let’s all have a cup of tea.
