Take a road less travelled

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion - Leah Kidd Reporter leah.kidd@news-mail.com.au

SOMETIMES I envy people like Niel Pepper (pictured

below, story page 7) who take the leap, escape the daily grind and dedicate their days to travel.

Further to that, those who dedicate their travel to exploring their own country.

I find it interesting how many people, unlike Niel, choose to jet off overseas before exploring their own backyard.

It was on a recent visit to Perth that I saw the beauty of being on a holiday at home.

But whether it’s Australia or overseas, it takes a certain amount of courage to leave the life you know and pack the one you’re about to create into something the size of your overnight bag.

But if Niel Pepper’s journey is anything to go by, you may never look back.

And as Niel finishes his fourth trip around Australia and looks to plan his fifth, I find myself wishing I too could wake up and busk my way from one day to the next.
