ARE you look­ing for ac­tiv­i­ties to en­ter­tain your child this school hol­i­days?

Childers Arts Space is of­fer­ing a great school hol­i­days work­shop themed around their lat­est ex­hi­bi­tion.

Round Pots, Square Holes for Kids work­shop is be­ing held on Fri­day, July 11, from 10am to noon.

Come learn di­rectly from Cate Ver­ney, a Childers Fire­house pot­ter and ex­hibit­ing artist in the Round Pots, Square Holes ex­hi­bi­tion.

Get cre­ative, get messy and take your art­work home. Cate will walk through the steps in­volved in mak­ing a clay cre­ation and each child will cre­ate an art piece to take home.

The cost is $8 a child. Book­ings are es­sen­tial and can be made by con­tact­ing CHARTS on 4130 4876 or brag­brc.org.au/work­shops.

EN­TRY of the an­nual Mt Perry Art Com­pe­ti­tion is open and can be down­loaded from the Mt Perry Fine Arts group web­site at www.mt­per­ryfin­earts.blogspot.com.au. More than $7000 of prize­money is up for grabs and ap­pli­ca­tions close Mon­day, Au­gust 25, with the ex­hi­bi­tion run­ning from Septem­ber 5 to 7.

IF YOU live in the Bund­aberg re­gion and have a project in mind, and it has an arts or cul­tural el­e­ment, act now.

The Re­gional Arts De­vel­op­ment Fund is a part­ner­ship be­tween Bund­aberg Re­gional Coun­cil and the Queens­land Govern­ment to sup­port lo­cal arts and cul­ture.

Ap­pli­ca­tions open Mon­day, July 28, and close Fri­day, Septem­ber 19, for projects start­ing no ear­lier than mid-Novem­ber 2014.

RADF is open to in­di­vid­u­als, groups, cul­tural or­gan­i­sa­tions and com­mu­nity or­gan­i­sa­tions.

Forms are avail­able from BRAG and CHARTS gal­leries, and the Mon­crieff Theatre dur­ing the ap­pli­ca­tion pe­riod.

In­for­ma­tion ses­sions will be held dur­ing July, where in­ter­ested people can learn more about the RADF pro­gram and dis­cuss project ideas in per­son.

Ses­sions will be held in Childers (5pm–6.30pm Tues­day, July 8), Gin Gin (11am–12.30pm Satur­day, July 19) and Bund­aberg (5pm–6.30pm Tues­day, July 22). THE Bund­aberg Re­gional Gal­leries are ex­cited to present one of Aus­tralia’s most sig­nif­i­cant con­tem­po­rary artists, Hos­sein Valamanesh.

Vis­it­ing Bund­aberg as part of the Lit­er­ary No­tions in­stal­la­tion se­ries, Valamanesh will deliver an artist talk on Thurs­day, July 10, from 6–8pm at Bund­aberg Re­gional Li­brary, 49Woon­dooma St, Bund­aberg.

CHILDERS Arts Space cel­e­brates the Childers Fes­ti­val with a fun, free, art ac­tiv­ity on Sun­day, July 27, from 9am– 3pm.

You can watch the fes­ti­val go by from the ve­randa at CHARTS while cre­at­ing an art but­ton badge with artist Vynka von Fahland.

Be in­spired by the ma­te­ri­als on hand to de­sign, cut and com­pose an art­work that can tell a story or share your per­son­al­ity.
