THE chilly wind did not stop a large con­tin­gent of Vets ar­rive for the 18-hole sin­gle stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion and the 9-hole Chook Run, with many fine scores be­ing achieved.

Vicki McAu­lay was the over­all win­ner with a score of 40 points, while Norm Plath won A Di­vi­sion with his score of 38 points from Phil Luck­ett on 37 – pity about the ticket, Norm. Barry Steinke was 2nd run­ner-up on 35 and Dave Robin­son won best nine holes with 21 points.

Mark McAu­lay scored 39 points to win B Di­vi­sion from Len Stal­lard on 38, with Bob Champ­ney 2nd run­ner-up on 35. Rose Cochrane won best nine holes with 22 points.

Kev Sav­age put his sec­ond shot in the hole to win the men’s ap­proach while Val Plath won the women’s ap­proach a lit­tle fur­ther away from the hole.

Chook Run win­ners were led by Rose Cochrane with net 28 from Val Plath, Norm Plath and Vicki McAu­lay on 30, with Dave Robin­son and Len Stal­lard col­lect­ing the last two chick­ens on 31 net – what scores!

Next week, July 8, we play a 4-ball stable­ford, draw for part­ners or se­cret part­ners.
