Crushing begins as frost hits
HARVESTING of the 2014 cane crop began on Sunday, July 13, and crushing began at Isis Mill just before 8am on Monday, July 14.
An Isis Mill spokesman said the commissioning of the factory for the season had gone “smoothly” with minor issues.
“Twenty-four-hour CCS results are quite pleasing with 13.56 units recorded,” he said.
“The team from Isis Productivity Limited is on the ground in the frosted areas advising growers on harvesting.
“Please make contact with them if you have concerns before altering harvesting plans.”
He said the team was reporting significant damage, particularly in the Wallaville area.
