Auxiliary to fundraise for mobility aid

Isis Town and Country - - NEWS -

BIGGENDEN Hospital Auxiliary has high hopes to buy equipment to benefit its elderly patients from the proceeds of its tombola.

RN and auxiliary member Linda Fuller said the Sara Stedy was mobility-promoting aid that encouraged more mobile patients and residents to stand up independently.

“I saw the apparatus in use in rehab in Bundaberg while I was undertaking a course,” Ms Fuller said.

“I felt it was an ideal piece of equipment for our hospital, especially with our 11 long-stay aged patients,” she said.

The Sara Stedy costs $2100.

The tombola will be held at the Memorial Hall on Saturday, with the doors opening at 8.30am.

Admission is $2 and
