Plant some trees for future shade

Isis Town and Country - - News -

NATIONAL Tree Day happens to coincide with the Childers Festival this Sunday.

To celebrate the occasion Isis Bushcare will be holding a Native Tree Sale.

Isis Bushcare secretary Margie Zea said the day was about encouraging people to plant a tree and contribute to Australia’s future.

“We like to use the old saying ‘someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago’,” Ms Zea said.

Ms Zea encouraged community members to drop in on their way to or from the festival and support the cause.

The stall will be set up at the Childers Historical Complex, Taylor St.

Native tree seedlings will be for sale at $2.50 each. Trays of 40 Queensland white gum seedlings (Eucalyptus argophloia) are also available at a cost of $30.

For more information contact Margie on 4126 3520 or 0439 583 169.
