Head to Childers for fun

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion - Liz Carson Editor

I’M yet to experience the festival which brings the Bruce Highway to a standstill, but I can’t wait to head down to Childers this weekend and experience it for myself.

Bringing an estimated 40,000 people to the region is no mean feat and the festival continues to grow, with new offerings each year.

It’s an event that really has something for everyone.

As well as food, markets and a massive variety of entertainment, there are a number of workshops on this year to appeal to creative types.

And a big attraction this year will be the reopening of the Paragon Theatre, which has been closed since 1998.

I’m sure many locals will take up the opportunity to visit the theatre and see how the restoration has taken shape, and perhaps even reminisce.

So, if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, take a trip down to Childers – I’m sure you’ll find plenty to do.
