Small school sports
LAST week Goodwood State School attended the annual Small School Sports Day at Childers Showgrounds and competed with students from Cordalba and St Joseph’s.
Students participating from all schools exhibited commitment and enthusiasm set in strong spirit of collaboration and friendship.
Throughout the day students participated in 100m, 200m and 800m running races, relay teams, long jump, shot put, high jump, the traditional ball games and the junior students participated in interesting and exciting games as their peers competed in field events.
At the end of the day achievement points were tallied and age champions and winning teams were identified.
Goodwood came out on top, winning the Ball Games Shield and the Overall Points Shield.
Around 12 students represented Goodwood School on the day.
Congratulations to Tori Holmes who was awarded 10 years girls’ age champion and Bailey Graham who was awarded 10 years boys’ age champion.
House captains Yana Holmes and Brent Hass were very gracious and honoured to receive the shields on behalf of the school.
SPORTING SUCCESS: Goodwood State School was thrilled to have won the ball games shield and overall points shield at the Small School Sports Day, held at Childers Showgrounds.
