Funding welcome at IDSHS
ISIS District State High School students will continue to have access to greater education and career opportunities as part of an extension to the Gateway to Industry Schools Program.
Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said the Queensland Government was investing an extra $900,000 to continue the program in schools across the state.
He said IDSHS was one of more than 100 state schools that had engaged with local industry to develop the skills of students as part of the initiative.
“The Queensland Government is committed to ensuring that students have access to the education and skills they need for a bright future with lifelong career opportunities,” he said.
“Students from IDSHS have achieved great things through the Gateway to Industry Schools Program and I’m thrilled that this initiative will continue.”
Principal Brett Kavanagh welcomed the funding, which he said would ensure ongoing partnerships with local industry and important pathway options for students.
