A MAN in his 50s is dead after crashing his motorcycle into a tree. Bundaberg Police Sergeant Mick Ward said it appeared the motorcycle left Childers Rd, at Cordalba, and smashed into the tree at 1.15pm yesterday. Sgt Ward said the man had not yet been formally identified and officers were currently trying to locate the man's next of kin. The RACQ Care Flight rescue helicopter was called, but did not transport any patients. Investigations are continuing. Yesterday afternoon's crash marks the 11th death on our region's roads this year alone. He is also the fourth motorcyclist to have died as a result of a crash.
