SCHOOL CAR­NI­VAL: Isis District State High School stu­dents Ben Richard­son and Thomas Green let their hair down at the an­nual ath­let­ics car­ni­val.

ISIS District State High School held its an­nual school ath­let­ics car­ni­val on Fri­day.

The ath­let­ics car­ni­val is an im­por­tant part of the school’s sports pro­gram in ad­di­tion to the swim­ming and cross coun­try car­ni­vals held ear­lier in the year.

Sports co-or­di­na­tor Analee Clewes com­mented that this year’s car­ni­val had the high­est level of par­tic­i­pa­tion in her seven years at the high school.

Miss Clewes was sup­ported by her stu­dent sport house cap­tains who worked hard each year de­vel­op­ing a theme to build house spirit and as­sist with the nom­i­na­tions for the track and field events.

This year’s win­ning theme was from Vesta house, Vesta Ve­gas.

Vesta house took out first place this year fol­lowed by Pin­dar, Tro­jan and Badilla houses.
