Look­ing at Aus­tralia’s role in World War I, this new four-part se­ries draws on per­sonal ac­counts to re­veal the sto­ries of six peo­ple with vastly dif­fer­ent ex­pe­ri­ences dur­ing a time that for­ever changed the course of his­tory. From Tas­ma­nian foot sol­dier Archie Bar­wick (Myles Pol­lard, right), to peace cam­paigner Vida Goldstein (Vir­ginia Gay), to English-born farm labourer’s son To­mom Barker (Tom Mil­ton), the six com­pelling tales are told through dra­matic re­con­struc­tions and ex­pert anal­y­sis of what the in­di­vid­u­als en­dured red dur­ing the Great War – an era that se­ri­ously tested the re­solve of one of the world’s new­est na­tions – Aus­tralia.
